LOCATION
The Maldives is a small island nation just southwest of Sri Lanka and India, with a chain of 26 atolls across 1 192 islands in the vast Indian Ocean. The unique coral islands sit no higher than 1.8 meters above sea level.

A tropical climate, hot all year round, with southwest winds from late April to September, and northeast winds from October to December. Expect an average temperature of 28°C (82°F) and sea temperature of 30°C (86°F) with rainfall occurring mostly in short downpours or thunderstorms.
